I help leaders align who they are with how they live and lead.

For over twenty years, I’ve walked with leaders on the long journey towards thriving. It’s the work I love and the craft of my vocation. This has been more clear to me through the rearview mirror than through the windshield. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be when I grew up until I did some growing up.

My path took me through corporations, small businesses, startups, and non-profits. From optimizing leader development strategies for thousands to co-founding Exceptional Leaders, my heart has always been with those who lead–at whatever level. For better and for worse, I’ve seen how a leader’s effectiveness–mine included–rises and falls in direct correlation with how inwardly sound and others focused that leader is or isn’t. I believe leaders play a crucial role in the integration of human flourishing and organizational effectiveness. The health and effectiveness of a leader and that of a team are inseparable. As the leader grows, so does the team.

I don’t believe that most leaders set out to be lousy. I believe most people are doing the very best they can with what they’ve experienced so far in life. And I believe that most leaders can experience life and leadership very differently with a little guidance. I know this both as a coach and as a client.

On the way to today, I earned professional coaching credentials from New Ventures West and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies with a minor in Greek from Lipscomb University. These days, I live just outside Atlanta, Georgia, with my wife, our four children, two dogs, and a handful of chickens.
